Long Fastened Coat (F2)

This coat has an open v-neck and is sized to wrap completely around the rectangular body from the mid-point down.

You will need:

  • scraps of yarn
  • knitting needles (3mm)
  • tapestry needle
  • scissors

Pattern:

Cast on 33 sts and work in the flat.

  1. Row 1: k3, [p2, k3] x 6
  2. Row 2: p3, [k2, p3] x 6

Repeat rows 1 and 2 three more times.

  1. Row 9: k3, [p2tog, k3] x 6
  2. Row 10: p3, [k1, p3] x 6
  3. Row 11: k3, [p1, k3] x 6
  4. Row 12: p3, [k1, p3] x 6
  5. Row 13: [k2, ssk] x 6, k3
  6. Row 14: p –
  7. Row 15: k –
  8. Row 16: p –

Repeat rows 15 and 16 three more times.

  1. Row 23: k1, k2tog, k16, k2tog
  2. Row 24: p2tog, p14, p2tog, p1
  3. Row 25: k1, k2tog, k12, k2tog
  4. Row 26: p –
  5. Row 27: k –
  6. Row 28: p –

Cast off.

Making Up:

Find the cast off edge of the knitting. Fold the last couple of stitches on each side inwards and sew into place. Wrap the coat completely around the keyring buddy body so that the shoulders fit into the folds. Sew into place.

Note that knitted coats are attached to the body before attaching the arms.
