Design Knitting With Maths
WAIT DON'T GO!!!
As a knitter you are probably already using a lot more maths that you realise. This section contains some notes showing how maths can be used to help design original patterns from scratch.
Tension
Before you can design a knitting pattern with maths you need to know the average size of one of your stitches. This section takes you through how to work out your Stitch Width (SW) and Stitch Height (SH) by knitting a tension patch.
Shapes
In this section we look at how to create knitting exactly the size and shape you want, in whatever stitch you choose.
Colour
Maths can help design patterns of colour as well as shape your knitting. In this section we look at some fun effects and patterns.
Notes
A list of basic techniques that may be used in any of the other sections.
Or go straight to Free Patterns and avoid the maths completely!
