Passing the Hat Around

Just a quick update today. I've moved the 'Events' tab from the top of the page. Largely because I've not done many events and have been forgetting to update it when I do. Now the 'Events' page can be reached via the 'Get in Touch' tab.

I've added a 'Support Fund' tab. All the patterns on this site are free and will remain so, but there are costs to running the website and if any of you lovely readers will consider contributing towards them there is now a way for you to do so.

Lastly any sci-fi fans among you should check out my tumblr. I've recently uploaded a Star Wars Scarf Pattern and I'm unreasonably proud of it.

Quiet Night In

Baldrick's poem seems particularly apt tonight given the noise that's going on outside. Last Wednesday was bonfire night and a lot of places held their display over for the weekend. The constant explosions wouldn't be nearly as upsetting if I could actually see the fireworks.

I was hoping to get my sparkly-star firework shawl finished for today. Mind you it was originally intended to be a black magic shawl for Halloween so I'm doubly behind schedule. I'll just have to wait and show it off next year. In the meantime here is a progress shot...

Star Shall Progress Shot

Sorry about the harsh lighting. So far I've made three lengths of the little star banner, picking up stitches to make a fabric. You can't really tell from the photo but the yarn is deep black with many, many purple sparkles. I actually went out and bought it specially which I barely ever do. Here is a short animation so you can appreciate the sparkles...
