Pattern:
(A list of abbreviations is available.)
Hilt:
Make an arm/leg in dark grey as you would for the keyring buddy pattern, then work eleven extra rows of i-cord to extend it by about double.
Blade:
Cast on 5 sts in pale grey.
- Row 1: k1, yfwd, sl1, ybck, k1, yfwd, sl1
Repeat this single row until the blade measures approximately 5cm. Then work the final row as below.
- Row Fin: ssk, k1, k2tog
Thread yarn through remaining stitches and pull tightly.
Making Up:
Bend the dark grey I-cord into a hilt shape as shown in the diagram below. Sew back and forth between the sides to fix in position.
Sew the blade to the hilt and hide any remaining loose ends.
Notes:
Needle/Yarn Size
As with most ODDknit patterns the yarn and needle sizes in the "you will need" section are just a guide. Feel free to improvise with whatever needles and yarn you have lying around - that's half the fun!
