Cast on 30 sts and join into the round.

  1. Round 1: [p1, k14] x 2 (30)

Repeat this round nineteen more times (twenty times in total).

Separate out the stitches so the first 15 are on one needle and the last 15 are on another.

Graft the two sets of stitches together using Kitchener stitch.

Make 2.

Centre

Cast on 16 sts and join into the round.

  1. Round 1: [p1, k7] x 2 (16)

Repeat this round nineteen more times (twenty times in total).

Cast off.

Make 1.

Making Up:

Turn all the knitted pieces inside out so that the reverse side of the stocking stitch is on the outside. Tack the open edges of the 'loops' together. Don't bother to do it neatly, all this will be hidden.
